Step 3 – Memory (AM4)

Step 3, Header

Next choose the amount of memory (RAM) in your new desktop.

RAM allows applications to store data temporarily and can be accessed with extreme speed. Applications requiring large amounts of RAM include high-resolution photo editing software (gimp), virtualization software (virtualbox), neural networks, and databases. If you plan to have many applications (or web-browsing tabs) open at once, larger amounts of RAM can improve system performance.

All RAM options use two or four modules to enable “dual channel” mode for a 5-10% performance increase over using a single module.

When finished selecting your Memory, proceed to Step 4 – Storage.
